Dyn Ardas, Drinish Ruin
Fri Aug 27, 2021 8:57 pm
The old elven ruin of Dyn Ardas in the Hyldran Hills, used to be a fort that guarded the mines in the Thyrmian Mountains, back long ago when Dimara was a Drinish (elven) land. The ruins have crumbled over time, and people stay away from them, as it is said the underground levels of Dyn Ardas have tunnels that lead to the Seyjere in the Darkendeep, the uppermost layer of those perilous depths.

Arriving there, Suraj looks around at the dilapidated fort, blinking as he looks around -- and one moment is there, the next, atop a fallen to get a better view, then atop a small hill nearby, in surging flashes of blue vapor.
"Wow.. so, huh, the guy you're looking for is around here? Talk about a destination!" he scoffs as he appears next to Amadar in a gust of wind. "Where do we start?" Suraj asks, even stopping for that single moment enough to get him to adopt a stance as if he's been waiting around for a full minute.

Amadar Durue: "I fear the reason he's been a way for a while is that he may have ventured into the Seyjere. If he even got that far. Look, gnoll tracks..."
Standing by the entrance to the ruins, Amadar crouches to point out the tracks in the dirt to Suraj.

"Huh-- Ohhh. Right," he looks down and then immediately realizes what he's looking at. "Gnoll tracks. You think it'll be a good idea to follow them? I mean I'm just saying, I wouldn't be opposed ta coming back with more of a team than just, you and I," Suraj gestures between himself and Amadar. "Not that we're a bad team! No. No, just, we're only two people," he gave a dry chuckle.
"Ooooor we can just go on ahead! No holding back, just the way I like it," he smirks, stretches slightly as he eyes up the ruins.

Amadar put the longbow on her back and unsheathed her two scimitars, one of them with a glimmering magical sheen.
"Let us proceed." Just as she had said that, the two heard gnolls bark, and judging from the sounds, two gnolls were approaching the entrance area...
"Quick. Hide." Amadar hid behind a collapsed pillar.

"Uh-oh..." Suraj just barely mutters, and quickly looks around for a hiding spot -- and immediately shoots for what he thinks is a good one, out of sight as best he can get.

"Attack!" Amadar yells when the two gnolls have appeared between them, and viciously attacks them, slashing away with her scimitars. She manages to get in two good hits on the gnoll closest to her.

Suraj bursts from his hiding spot with great speed, and launches himself into a flying kick against the first one Amadar managed to get good two hits on -- though of course, since the gnoll was already reeling, it seems to accidentally roll with the strike.
"Heh! Wow, you guys any better than goblins? Please say yes. I felt awful beating those guys up!" he taunts, adopting a fighting stance.

"Argh, die gnolls!" Amadar lets out a barrage of slashes with her scimitar, bringing down the gnoll closest to her, and seriously wounding the one closest to Suraj.

Suraj is quick to dodge out of the way in a brief blur of azure ether to give her some room, and just folds his arms, tuts slightly. "C'mon, isn't there something to be said for a fair fight?" he shrugs before whipping around into a roundhouse kick, aimed very precisely and with great force at the remaining gnoll's neck, sending the monster flying.

"Whew, that was a thing," Suraj gives a deep breath, stretches and limbers up again after he dispatched the last gnoll, and he scratches an itch behind an ear. "Man. There any chance for a quick break? I kinda wanna keep my energy up," he asks.

"May not be the best place to rest. There are bound to be more gnolls about, and when these two don't return, they're going to come looking after them..."

He seems to visibly deflate at the answer, and just gives a shrug, brushing it off. "Eh. No sweat off my brow. I mean, it is, kinda, but it's not a problem. What's our next move; go further inside, see what we can deal with?" Suraj gestures to the ruins.

"Let us loot these two real quick and then move with stealth through the ruins. See if Jalath is perhaps held captive..."

Suraj is quick to take interest in the blue quartz, and pockets that for later in particular. He likes the colour. And the healing potion won't hurt either. He stands up after having taken what he's actually interested in, and gives a breath. "All right. Let's keep going," he confidently smirks.

You soon reach a large yard within the ruin. Three gnolls patrol the yard and there are three wooden poles at the opposite end of the yard where two people are tied to two of them.
Amadar quickly recognizes one as Jalath Talashar. The other is a female aumadrin, with long, flowering blond hair, clad like a scholar or a mage.
Close to the poles there's an entrance to the ruin's dungeon.

Suraj quickly catches sight of the tied-up victims and their captors, and is immediately up for a fight, fists clenched as he rushes forth -- partly because he wants to and partly because distracting them from immediately spotting Amadar is a good plan.
"Hey, dogbreath! Yeah, that's to all of you, by the way!" he calls, with a whistle. "Let 'em go, or I'll beat all of you into the ground in, uhhh.." he thinks for a moment as he hops on the spot, gearing up for a melee. "Ten seconds? Yeah! Bring it on," Suraj smirks.

Ulafiel's eyes shoot up at the sound of a new voice. She was a bit worried, at least until the man shouted out. It gave her some level of hope, but there was certainly something... off about the whole situation. Regardless, assuming they were here to help, she was just excited to hopefully be untied from this pole.
The aumadrin had her long blonde hair and fair skin, and her dress was meant to be more low-key, as not to draw attention. Of course, the book she carried on her hip might have been attention enough. The outfit was a purple robe with a blue undershirt, as well as dark leather pants and boots. Her hands, however, did not have any coverings, showing somewhat long fingernails and fairly delicate hands. It was clear that this woman was close to nothing when it came to physical strength or endurance.

Amadar cast a spell and suddenly a loud roar came from within the entrance to the ruin's dungeon and the three gnolls turned around, shocked and terrified at what the beast might be.

Amadar proceeds to viciously attack two of the gnolls that stand close together, from behind with her scimitars, slaying one of them and wounding the other.

Suraj takes the opportunity and zips forth to deliver a flying kick -- but when that fails, and the gnoll dodges it, he flips back around to quickly elbow it in the sternum before spinning back around to a safe melee range.

The gnoll by Amadar lashes at her with its spear, and the one by Suraj attempts to bite him. Both miss however.

He's much too fast, dodging on the spot in a blur of sky-blue miasma, a cheeky smirk on his face as he does so. "You're too slow, friend!" Suraj taunts.

Amadar slays the remaining gnoll by her with some well-placed slashes of her scimitars.

Suraj thinks it's time to finish this, and so he does, setting up a fake-out before a punch-kick combo to see the remaining gnoll off. It's a simple combo, very fast, of two punches and a solid kick in the gnoll's midsection.
